Objectives: The purpose of this review is to overview the studies of acupuncture treatment for vulvodynia.

Results: Six studies were included in this review. There were 3 randomized controlled studies and 3 before and after studies.
The outcome measurement of vulvodynia was divided into pain, sexual function, and quality of life. The acupuncture treatment was effective in relieving vulvar pain, dyspareunia and improving quality of life.
